It all started with the introduction of the Real Estate Maximum concept in 1973 by the founders Dave and Gail Liniger, which revolutionized the real estate market. The idea was simple: attracting the best real estate agents by providing various competitive advantages all under the RE/MAX brand. Better commission plans for associates, a unique training system and state-of-the-art technology helped RE/MAX to take off. The idea has since proven highly successful and enabled us to evolve into an extensive international network of real estate professionals.
In 1995, Walter Schneider and Frank Polzler navigated the RE/MAX balloon to Europe, establishing the European headquarters in Zug, Switzerland and Vienna, Austria. Today their family-run business represents 30% of RE/MAX worldwide. Born into this family of real estate pioneers, Michael Polzler holds the role of Managing Director of RE/MAX Europe. Pursuing the tried-and-tested system and adding his entrepreneurial spirit and vision, the RE/MAX network in Europe has grown to more than 14,000 agents operating in 32 countries across the continent.
